House Party, Number Munchers & My Inner Hippie

11 Mar

I want to blog. No, really, I do! About…

{via}

… me giggling and giggling when I told my dad a story about my college days involving me, a house party, my date who had a tongue ring, the cops, hiding in a bathroom and discovering that everyone, including our ride, quickly fled the scene.

… how I won’t ever be able to look at a breakfast burrito the same way again courtesy of the Motley Crue antics explained in “The Dirt.” (Fortunately I never really liked breakfast burritos.)

…  almost getting up early this morning to go run four miles before work, at the ungodly hour of 5:30 am but then decided sleep and puppy cuddles were more important. I also realized that would be a boring blog post.

… the fact that I’m actually quite terrified of my classes, which start tomorrow, because, well, the last time numbers and I got along we were in elementary school playing “Number Munchers,” on the computer. (I’m taking finance & management econ. I think econ and I will get along alright.)

… how much I’d love to go running from my office building directly to a beach or a pool. The 72 degree weather we are experiencing is literally making me antsy for the real thing.

…. the fact that I got my best night of sleep in a long time last night simply because it was raining. Best. Sleeping. Weather. Ever.

…. my ongoing fascination and surprises I have as a result of being in this community. The emails and comments I received on my last post about the “something missing” made me realize that I’m not alone and for that I thank you. I also thank you for the encouragement on school & my running.

… craving a new look and style for myself. Maybe it should start with my hair. Or maybe I should finally start dressing like my inner hippie. Or inner Connecticut preppy self. If only I had the amazing fashionistas I idolize closer to help me!

… baby fever. I have it.

but alas, life has other plans for me. I’m in corporate mayhem, pleasing customers, taking deep breaths and sadly ignoring my corner of the interwebs.

If you had more time today, what would you blog about?

Good luck with your classes! Oh, and ‘The Dirt’? I love it, great book.

NUMBER MUNCHERS WAS AMAZING! And you went on a date with someone who had a tongue ring! You just fascinate me.

Finding a your style is so much fun! You should look into the book Style Statement (here), it’s an amazing way to move through finding your personal style, in all aspects of your life. I think Ev’s done it too, it’s a huge workbook and you would looove it =)

I need to work on my style too. Desperately. Unfortunately I currently have no money to spend on that aspect of myself!

I am trying to find the words to write a really complicated book about morals (sparked by the latest Jodi Picoult book I’m tearing through) but those kinds of posts are so hard for me to write!

Glad to hear the running is going good! XO

I had one of my best kisses EVER with someone who had a tongue ring…sigh.

That’s really weird that you mention Number Munchers, because I hadn’t thought about it in years, but I heard someone else mention it just today.

I’d like to be blogging about something that hasn’t happened, but I really wish it would. One of these days!

    Aaaah! Baby Fever~!! It’s spreading :)

I’d probably blog about how busy this past week was. Haha. Seriously, it was hectic.

Also, I totally agree, rain is the best sleeping weather ever!

Given more time each day, I want to blog about the questions that has been bothering my complacency and everyday issues of life. :-)

  9. Nilsa @ SoMi Speaks March 12, 2010 at 7:33 am #

If only I could SLEEP IN until 5:30 and then GO RUNNING. That would be dreamy for me. =)

If I had more time today, I wouldn’t blog. I’d make calls related to refinancing our home, make a vet appointment for SoMi, make a doctor’s appointment for myself and likely take a nap. Me sleepy.

I’m totally following Nilsa around the blog world today. =) Anyway, I think you should totally delve into finding your personal style, then teach me how to find mine, please. I could totally be a hippie (well at least one who showers regularly). I always have intentions of getting up early to accomplish things, but the reality of that happening is a completely different story.

If I had more time today, I don’t think I would blog either (like Nilsa), I would take my dog to the park and soak up some of the sun thats currently shining, then take a nap later this afternoon when it rains, and then make a delicious dinner for some friends. I’m kind of getting used to ignoring the internet on the weekends and truthfully, I sort of like it.

even this comment would be better if i had more time! but i would talk about nick turning 14 today, almost finishing my masters, questioning the baby thing and so many many more things!

Number munchers and Oregon trail and Carmen Sandiego.

    Best games ever.

Ah! Number Munchers = awesome :D If I had more time I’d blog about all my fears about being 7-ish weeks away from being a mom. It would be a novel …

  14. Sarah March 12, 2010 at 11:27 am #

Oh I am so glad that I’m not the only one who sets their alarm to get up at 5.30 to work out but then decides they’d rather stay in bed instead! Makes me feel so much better about today. :D

As for the new look thing, maybe you could wear your hair differently. So that could reflect your inner hippie / Conneticut preppy self. I love your current hairstyle, so I honestly wouldn’t want you to change it, but then I know what a pick-me up a new hairstyle can be….

So, just let us know which option you decide to take! ;)

I adore sleeping in the rain!

I’m stuck at home, so I seem to have all the time in the world to blog right now. Still can’t think of anything good to say.

“my ongoing fascination and surprises I have as a result of being in this community” – it really is amazing, isn’t it? :)

  17. Her March 15, 2010 at 8:53 pm #

My parents are in Florida at the beach right now, texting me pictures–must be nice!

I’ve been wanting to do something bold with my hair too, but I might be too chicken to do that just yet.
