Grace in Small Things: Week Four

8 Oct

First GiST? The lovely Wonju Wife sending me a series of buttons/banners to use in my GiST posts going forward just because she felt like it. They are gorgeous too. See?

* My entire support network of friends and family who have been sending me sweet, supportive emails all week asking how the grad school finals are going. (I promise, just two more days and I won’t mention those words much at all anymore!)

* Going to the allergist and finding out that while my food allergies aren’t better, they aren’t worse.

* Hearing from friends that I sent snail mail to; knowing I made their day brighter gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling.

* Endless gchat conversations pertaining to New Year’s Eve: The San Francisco Edition.

* Amazing breakthrough work conversations with my dad.

* Adam Braverman. Puck. Crosby. Ted Mosby. (aka, my tv show crushes).

* Picking up some really adorable baby gifts for a few special people who are having their babies soon. I really love shopping for adorable baby clothes and necessities.

* Knowing that this Saturday I get to see one of my best friends and her family while we sit around a campfire, drink beer, and just hang out. Then on Sunday, a quick lunch with my brother.

* Being able to laugh at myself.

* Hoodies.

* A dinner with a friend on Wednesday night full of laughs, catching up and ignoring our stressors.

* Casual Friday at the office.

Your turn to share what you made you smile this past week.

(Be sure to come back next Tuesday for the chocolate review + giveaway!)

I’m so excited for you to be done grad school!! The time you’ll have just for yourself will be amazing- I can’t wait to hear about luxurious evenings spent reading and catching up with friends :)

My grace in small things this week was dancing to Iggy Pop & Belle and Sebastian while making floral arrangements for most of the week. And returning to my friends and knitting club, we had cheeseburger shaped cupcakes and it was amazing.

Now, THAT’s something that’s missing from my maternity wardrobe … hoodies … oh, how I miss thee! =)

GIST for me includes a special rendez-vous with our wedding photographer, exchanging text messages with a friend who just had a baby, securing plans for our New York trip next week and looking forward to visits from special friends in November!

I love cool graphics. Makes me wish I knew how to create them myself.

And if I didn’t tell you on Wednesday, I’m SUPER JEALOUS of your San Fran/NYE plans.

Yay for Friday and yay for finals being almost over!

Mine are that my sweaters (and hoodies!) still fit me because I’ve always liked them baggy, AND that it’s finally cool enough at night to legitimately wear them.

Hoodies are one of my favorite things for fall. It’s like being in pajamas that you can wear out all day long!
